Spools

I got a jelly roll of Aneela Hooey's Sew Stitchy and the Spools pattern from Thimble Blossoms and here's what happened.

This quilt was a crazy lot of straight line quilting.  I think they are 1/2 inch lines.  I can't say that I loved quilting this one. It makes for a great texture though.

Backing is some random donut circle print from Joann's...they don't make it anymore.  Sad :-(

I just couldn't leave the backing all one fabric (and I may or may not have been running out of it...) so I made 4 giant spools and pieced the back!  I'm so glad that I did.

I love scrappy binding...just sayin'.  It's totally awesome.

Madrona Road 1

I received a bundle of Madrona Road for Christmas...I think I started with 12 fat quarters.  I pulled the pinks and oranges for a quilt for my daughter and grabbed the blue, grey, and straw for another quilt.  I used the Mod Nine-Patch tutorial by Elizabeth Dackson and ended up with this gorgeous thing!

Quilted in an allover stipple using a light grey thread.

I love the broken herringbone backing!

Bound with Sprout in graphite.

A baby Weekender quilt

A baby sized version of the Happy Weekender quilt from Moda Bake Shop.

A little loopy quilting in white thread/

I had a couple of charm packs of Cuzco hanging around waiting for a project.  This little quilt magically appeared one day when I sat down to sew.  I love it!

Bella

A layer cake of Bella by Lotta Jansdotter and a couple of Bella solids (grey and turquoise) make for a very cool quilt!

The pattern is 4-Patch Shift by Jaybird Quilts

The quilting is Elizabeth Hartman's orange peel quilting in a light grey thread.

The backing was my big find...the only bolt of Bella that my local store got and it was clearing it out for less than $5/yard!  Yay for me :-D

Lauryn's Granny squares

My daughter decided that she wanted to choose all her fabric combos for this quilt.  She did a great job!

I used the Granny Square tutorial from Blue Elephant Stitches

All sorts of leftover fabric chunks for backing

A pretty Hawaiian style flower print for binding.
Straight line quilting in a pale pink thread completed this scrappy quilt.
